Melissa-Anne Bartrem RAD, Hons BA, BATD, IADA, FIS (Can Fit Pro), MA Candidate '13 (Dance Education)

Melissa-Anne is a dedicated dancer, teacher and choreographer who is currently working towards her Masters degree in dance education through the University of Surrey and The Royal Academy of Dance in England. Melissa has continued to balance her passion for performing arts education with her own performance career. As a dancer she has had the opportunity to perform throughout London, England as well as on the high seas as a production show dancer with Princess Cruise lines and as a dancer in Figueira Da Foz, Portugal with Patrice Marques Productions. After returning from Portugal last year Melissa has continued dancing in Toronto with R.S Divas Entertainment, having the opportunity to perform as a production show dancer for “Live at The Sands”, Casino Rama's “Divas Las Vegas Live”, “CASINO” live at the Koolhaus as well as various corporate functions and events.

Melissa continues to teach extensively throughout the GTA in various disciplines and is certified with The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) having completed the Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies Program while living in London, England. During her time in London she had the opportunity to develop and teach the dance curriculum in primary schools as the director of dance programing for a London based company, as well as teaching for various private dance schools. Melissa also holds a degree in Theatre Arts from The University of Toronto and is certified with The British Association of Teachers of Dancing (BATD), The international Academy of Dance Adjudicators (IADA) and as a fitness Instructor Specialist with Can Fit Pro (FIS), Canada's largest fitness training organization. As a competitive instructor Melissa has won choreography awards, while her students have won numerous overall titles and scholarships. As a dance educator, Melissa believes continuing education is extremely important and has had the privilege of taking classes from some of the best in the industry including, Karen Kain and Rex Harrington, at professional schools and conferences such as; The National Ballet of Canada in Toronto, Millennium Dance Complex, L.A, Pineapple Dance Studios in London, England and The Dance Teachers Web Conference in Las Vegas. Melissa is known for her infectious love of dance and continues to pass on her passion to all ages and abilities!
