Leah Schwarzli Associate, CSC-CICB, TTP Dip. (NBS)

Leah Schwarzli discovered her love for dance at the age of three. As a child and teenager, she competed extensively with York Dance Academy's competitive team in ballet and pointe, winning numerous first place and overall awards. Although ballet will always remain closest to her heart, she also trained in jazz, hip hop, musical theatre, acro, modern, lyrical and highland dancing. During her training years, Leah completed all of the grade and vocational level examinations with the Cecchetti Society of Canada.

Leah has recently graduated the Teacher's Training Program at Canada's National Ballet School. Through her time at The Ballet School, she successfully completed her Cecchetti Advanced 2 examination, as well as gained her teaching qualifications with the Cecchetti Society of Canada and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD). Leah has previously completed two years of the Bachelor of Fine Arts, Honours Dance Degree at York University. While studying there, she took classes in ballet, contemporary, Graham modern and African dance, as well as, composition and choreography classes. Leah will be returning to York University this year to complete this degree.

Leah has been teaching and choreographing for recreational and competitive students for the past ten years. She is very excited to be working more closely with the competitive ballet students at York Dance Academy this year, as well as preparing them for their Examinations in the Cecchetti method. Leah will also remain a substitute teacher at Canada's National Ballet School in the Associates Program this year.  She is looking forward to sharing her joy of dance with her students and cannot wait to help them grow as dancers and individuals as this year progresses!
