Laura Day 

Laura was born and raised in Kitchener, Ontario where she started dancing at the age of three. She trained in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Modern and Lyrical at the Academy of Dance in Waterloo until the age of 18. In 2007, Laura graduated from York University’s four year dance program where she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree, majoring in Dance with Honours.

Laura has had the pleasure of being taught by many world-renowned artists including Frank Augustyn, Arnold Spohr, Veronica Tennant, Robert Desrosier, David Earle and has also had the pleasure of studying classical Ballet at the Royal Winnipeg Ballet School.

Currently, Laura is dancing professionally with Motus O Dance Theatre and has had the opportunity to tour nationally and internationally over the last six years. She has performed in productions such as ‘The Little Match Girl’, ‘Circus Terrifico’, ‘A Christmas Carol’, ‘Variations in Love’, ‘Carmina Burana’, ‘What the Heck?’, ‘Perspectives’, ‘Petrouchka’ and ‘The Shunning’. She has also had the privilege of performing with the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra in Winnipeg and the Hannaford Silver Band in Toronto.

Laura has taught children of all ages and all across Canada. She is looking forward to sharing her passion and love for dance with the students at York Dance Academy!
