Amanda Weaver - Williams  (OCT, BEd, B.F.A., Dance Major)

An occasional teacher with the York Catholic District School Board, Amanda loves working with children. Her life as a dancer began at the National Ballet School’s Junior Associates Program. At age ten she was accepted into the professional, residential program at the Quinte Ballet School of Canada (QBSC) where she trained intensively for eight years in classical and contemporary ballet, jazz, and modern dance. At QBSC, she was taught- and performed many roles- by renowned teachers and choreographers such as Annette Av Paul; Brian MacDonald; Vicki St Denys, and David and Brian Scott. After graduating from the QBSC she joined contemporary ballet company Le Jeune Ballet Du Quebec.

A recent graduate of teacher’s college, Amanda also holds a four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and a major in dance from Ryerson University. At Ryerson, Amanda was taught by brilliant dancers such as Nadia Potts and Kenny Pearl. She also worked with such choreographers as Robert Glumbek, William Yong and Matjash Mrozewski. Amanda is thrilled to enjoy another year with the staff and students at York Dance Academy!
