Alex Herrington  (B.A)

Alex began her dance training at an early age studying Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical and Musical Theatre at Jaymor School of Dance. Her love of classical dance led Alex to train also at the Martha Hicks School of Ballet and Performing Dance Arts. She was a competitive dancer at PDA for a number of years and also performed with the Motus O Theatre Group and BYS Productions. 

A popular teacher & choreographer Alex not only teaches at YDA but also with the local school boards. In 2011 she choreographed the Dr. John M. Denison Secondary School’s rendition of “Grease” and the Stouffville Strawberry Street Festival Flash Mob. She has received numerous choreography awards and overall awards at various Competitions in Ontario.

Alex graduated from the University of Guelph with a B.A. in Mathematics, French Language and Literature studies and is currently a member of the Coaching Association of Canada through the NCCP.

Alex continues to increase her dance knowledge by attending workshops and master classes in New York and is looking forward to the upcoming season at York Dance Academy.
