Walt Disney World Performance Opportunity

March Break 2007

 

In 2000, we took a group of dancers down to Walt Disney World to perform in the park and to participate in a dance workshop with the Disney choreographers. This was such a wonderful opportunity we have decided to do it again in 2007!

 

This opportunity is open to all our recreational dancers over the age 6 and all our competitive dancers. The time frame given is March 10-17, 2007 however our final performance date and time has not been given to us yet. At this point the plan is to find out the level of interest at York Dance for this opportunity.

 

TRAVELLING TO AND FROM WALT DISNEY WORLD

We have decided not to organize “group” travel arrangements as many people have other less expensive ways to travel down to Florida including Air Miles, traveling by car, etc.

Students & their families therefore will be required to make their own way down and we will arrange a meeting day/time & location.

 

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION

Although it is not required to stay on the Disney property, we highly recommend it for the following reasons: (1) All Disney Resorts have gated entrances with security guards and are connected to the convenient Disney Transportation System (2) resort guests have access to Extra Magic Hours, which provide access to designated theme parks before or after regular operating hours (3) the All Star Resorts staff is accustomed to working with youth groups and is dedicated to providing a seamless experience for groups (4) Disney Resorts have beautiful swimming pool areas, a large food court available for breakfast, lunch and dinner and a terrific arcade with state of the art games for all ages.

We have arranged for discount hotel rates at the following resorts:

Caribbean Beach and Port Orleans. The room rate is $157.00 US per room, per night plus tax. These are standard rooms with 2 double beds (sleeps 4 people)

 

PARK HOPPER PASSES

Park passes are available at a discounted rate to dancers and their families. Each family may select the type of pass they wish to purchase as it is not necessary for everyone to have the same type of pass in order to get our group discount. Rates including taxes are as follows:

3-Day Park Hopper $120.50 or 3-Day premium (includes water park, etc) $ 133.50

4-Day Park Hopper $ 135.50 or 4-Day Premium $ 148.50

5-Day Park Hopper $ 132.50 or 5-Day Premium $ 158.50

 

DISNEY YOUTH PROGRAM DINING CARD

Special discount dining cards may be purchased at a discounted rate. These may be used in all restaurants in the theme parks and resorts. This will help keep the cost of food down while in the park.
